Cool Initiatives
Able to consistently think outside-of-the-box, Cypress has teamed up with utility companies in California to develop the Shift & Save and Cool Gas energy saving programs.
Part of a green initiative for California, Shift & Save uses Thermal Energy Storage (TES) to balance energy demands between daytime and nighttime and permanently remove daily AC peak loads over an entire cooling season. Using technologies that store energy in a thermal reservoir for later use, TES systems use ice or chilled water from stored thermal energy to reduce peak air conditioning loads.
Recent advances in natural gas cooling technology have made it easy to cool down with gas when it's heating up outside. Taking advantage of the reliable domestic supply and lower operating cost of clean-burning natural gas, qualified utility customers can install new generation natural gas cooling systems that can reduce energy consumption, maintaining comfort and contribute to a greener environment.
